Job Description

Operations Manager (Deli & Coffee) Job OverviewWe are seeking a high-energy, hands-on Operations Manager to lead our deli and coffee program. We need a leader who thrives on the floor, sets the pace for the team, and takes pride in tightening systems to ensure every guest receives a consistent, high-quality experience. The core of this role is operational excellence: managing day-to-day execution, refining and managing prep and inventory systems, maintaining a clean and organized facility, and coaching a reliable team across both culinary and beverage stations. The Ideal Candidate The "Lead by Example"
Operator:
You are always moving, proactive, and never walk past a problem —from a messy station to a burned out lightbulb.
Systems-Driven:
You believe in the power of prep lists, deep-cleaning schedules, and disciplined written inventory management.
Hospitality-First:
You understand that "Guest Experience" starts with a clean environment and ends with a perfectly made sandwich or latte.
A Natural Coach:
You enjoy training baristas and line cooks to reach their full potential, meeting them at their level and growing their ability every day.
Core Responsibilities Kitchen & Deli Oversight:
Lead kitchen operations including prep systems, line readiness, ticket times, friendly expo and strict food safety standards.
Sanitation & Cleanliness:
Implement and enforce daily, weekly, and monthly deep-cleaning checklists for both FOH and BOH. Ensure the shop is always "inspection-ready."
Facility Maintenance:
Act as the first line of defense for equipment (espresso machines, slicers, refrigeration). Coordinate repairs and perform basic troubleshooting to minimize downtime. Take ownership from the patio/curb to the back dumpster.
Guest Experience & Recovery:
Take ownership of customer service. Address guest feedback immediately and ensure every interaction reflects our brand standards.
Team Leadership:
Recruit, train, and motivate a high-performing team. Bridge the gap between all staff on both shifts to ensure seamless communication.
Administrative Rigor:
Execute daily/weekly written inventories, manage labor/COGS, and maintain all health department documentation.

2+ years in a leadership role within high-volume kitchen, deli, or specialty coffee operations.
Technical Skills:
Working knowledge of commercial kitchen/coffee equipment maintenance.
Safety First:
ServSafe Manager Certification or willingness to pursue required
