Job Description
Position Summary:
- The Director of Operations is responsible for the overall administrative and operational management of the outpatient substance abuse treatment center.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily operations of outpatient substance abuse treatment programs, including scheduling, intake, and service delivery
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, accreditation standards, and licensing requirements
- Develop, implement, and monitor operational policies and procedures
- Manage budgets, financial performance, and resource allocation
- Supervise and support administrative and non-clinical staff; assist with clinical staff coordination as needed
- Partner with Clinical Director to align operational processes with treatment goals and best practices
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement quality improvement initiatives
- Oversee billing, collections, and revenue cycle processes to ensure financial sustainability
- Maintain relationships with referral sources, community partners, and stakeholders
- Ensure a safe, welcoming, and therapeutic environment for clients and staff
- Lead staff training initiatives related to operations, compliance, and customer service
- Manage facility operations, including vendor relationships and maintenance
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2-3 years experience in healthcare operations,
- Experience in substance abuse or behavioral health settings strongly preferred
- Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements (e.g., HIPAA, state licensing, accreditation bodies such as CARF or Joint Commission)
- Proven experience in budget management and operational efficiency
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems
- Data-driven decision-making and performance management experience
- Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities
Work Environment:
- Outpatient clinical setting
- May require occasional evening or weekend hours depending on program needs
