Job Description

Taproom Coordinator Rutland Beer Works is an independently owned and operated brewery located in downtown Rutland, VT. What began as a small brewpub has grown into a larger, production focused operation with distribution throughout the state of Vermont. We are seeking an energetic and ambitious Taproom Coordinator to lead the day-to-day operations of our small taproom. The right person will help to build out our taproom experience, and will take the lead on taproom programming, marketing, and growing our customer base, in addition to serving customers. We're looking for someone with a hospitality background to build out a relatively new side of our business. The ideal candidate would have some experience bartending, serving, or a similar FOH hospitality role, plus a passion for craft beer. Experience is a plus, but we will happily train the right candidate. This position will cover all aspects of customer service, stocking, cleaning, handling payments, and inventory management. A typical schedule for this role would be afternoon and evenings, Thursday through Sunday, approximately 30 hours per week. Additional time may be required for assistance with various festivals and events. Job Responsibilities Interacting with, and serving customers a variety of alcoholic beverages, soda, and bar snacks Managing payment, keeping track of orders, keeping bar tabs up to date and organized Keeping the taproom area clean and tidy at all times Keeping retail area stocked, and managing inventory of shirts, stickers, retail beer, and other items Various auxiliary duties such as glassware cleaning, moving kegs, building boxes for production packaging runs. Plan, organize, and execute a variety of events including tastings, private parties, and community gatherings to promote brand visibility and customer engagement. Develop and implement marketing strategies to attract new visitors and retain loyal patrons, utilizing social media, local partnerships, and promotional campaigns.
Ideal Experience:
Proven experience in hospitality settings such as restaurants, hotels, or banquet services with a strong background in customer service and event management. Familiarity with marketing strategies including social media promotion and community outreach efforts. Experience in upselling products or services within a hospitality environment to maximize revenue opportunities. Strong organizational skills Excellent communication skills This is an hourly position offering a competitive wage plus tips, based on experience.
