  • Full-time About This Position The Phlebotomy Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of phlebotomy services to ensure high-quality patient care, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance.
This role leads and develops staff, manages workflows, and partners closely with clients and laboratory leadership to deliver accurate, timely results while maintaining exceptional service standards. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong operational, clinical, and customer service expertise. Key Responsibilities Ensure the accuracy and integrity of specimen collection, processing and packaging through detailed leadership and direction of supervisory and lead staff. Supervise and develop supervisory and lead staff through ongoing training, performance evaluations, and coaching. Maintain and analyze operational data and reports to monitor program efficiency and identify opportunities for improvement. Ensure adherence to all applicable federal, state, and company regulations, including CLIA and other relevant standards. Manage daily laboratory operations by effectively scheduling staff, reviewing payroll, and maintaining workflow efficiency. Build and sustain strong client relationships by delivering exceptional service, supporting training initiatives, and proactively resolving issues. Monitor testing processes to ensure timely completion and reporting of results within established turnaround time standards. Oversee laboratory supply inventory, ensuring adequate stock levels and cost-effective ordering practices. Develop and implement initiatives to improve operational efficiency and cost management. Communicate effectively with internal leadership and external partners regarding operational issues, concerns, and improvement opportunities. Utilize and provide feedback on electronic systems, including web portals, EMR integration, and electronic reporting tools, to enhance functionality and user experience. Qualifications & Experience Clinical Laboratory Technology background preferred. Minimum of 5 years of management or supervisory experience in a laboratory or healthcare setting. Strong customer service orientation with a commitment to client satisfaction. Proven organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment. Demonstrated ability to plan, schedule, and implement systems and process improvements aligned with organizational goals. Knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements and quality systems (e.g., CLIA). Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word. Flexibility to work extended shifts (10-12 hours), including evenings and weekends as needed. Physical Requirements Frequent standing, walking, and sitting (up to 8 hours per day) Frequent verbal communication Occasional bending and driving Regular use of hands for handling and operating equipment Occasional typing Visual acuity requirements: close vision, distance, color differentiation, and ability to adjust focus
