  • Full-time Job Summary The History Museum at the Castle seeks a multitalented Business Manager.
The successful candidate will be responsible for all accounting functions, human resources tasks, and guest services for the Museum. This is an important leadership role in our organization and requires tact, diplomacy, and a professional approach. Responsibilities Balance event cash to point of sale system and prepare bank deposits Coordinate payroll Receive, approve, and process bill payments Perform monthly accounting duties such as invoicing, amortizations, accruals, journal entries and reconciliations Prepare monthly financial reporting and cash flow analysis Work with Executive Director in budget preparation and presentation Conduct new team member orientation and onboarding Maintain secure personnel files Maintain federal, state, and local HR legal requirements by studying requirements; enforcing adherence to requirements; filing reports; and advising management Facilitate annual open enrollments and assist benefit eligible new hires with the enrollment process Respond to inquiries from staff members regarding policies, procedures and program Conduct training of Visitor Services personnel Develop procedures for a high-quality visitor experience Select and purchase shop merchandise that adds value to the Museum experience Supervise inventory of the Museum Shop Serve at the main contact for our information technologies contractors and vendors Additional office responsibilities as assigned Essential Qualifications Post-secondary degree(s) in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or equivalent experience Proficient with QuickBooks Online Proficient with Outlook, Microsoft Word, Excel, Square and PowerPoint Well organized and thorough, with the ability to multi-task Must have excellent interpersonal skills and customer service skills Desired Qualifications 2+ years of practical business experience in nonprofits, hospitality, or related industry. Strong professional communication skills including both verbal and written Knowledge of regulatory requirements of processing payroll accounting transactions and payroll returns Join us as a Business Manager to lead with energy, drive innovation, and make a meaningful impact on the community!
