This hands-on leadership role is responsible for coordinating activities across Engineering, Purchasing, Fabrication, and Installation while ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and within budget. The Operations Manager serves as the operational leader of the facility, driving workflow efficiency, resource planning, process improvement, and cross-functional communication. This individual will play a critical role in aligning departments, optimizing production, and supporting the successful execution of large-scale custom athletic seating projects. Key Responsibilities Operations & Production Management Manage the daily operations of the facility, ensuring safe, efficient, and productive workflows. Coordinate activities across Engineering, Purchasing, Fabrication, and Installation to support project execution and customer commitments. Monitor production schedules, labor utilization, and operational performance to ensure on-time delivery. Identify bottlenecks, resolve operational issues, and implement corrective actions to maintain workflow efficiency. Oversee inventory levels, material flow, and incoming shipments to ensure production readiness. Project & Resource Coordination Support the General Manager with project scheduling, capacity planning, and resource allocation. Track project progress across multiple concurrent projects and communicate status updates to leadership. Collaborate with Purchasing and Engineering to ensure materials, equipment, and labor resources align with project schedules. Assist in prioritizing workloads and adjusting schedules to meet changing business demands. Process Improvement & Systems Management Maintain and improve operational processes, procedures, and systems to increase efficiency and accuracy. Utilize ERP to monitor project performance, labor utilization, and material requirements. Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, quality, cost reduction, and operational excellence. Develop and implement metrics and reporting tools to support data-driven decision-making. Team Leadership & Communication Provide leadership and support to production and operational personnel. Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, safety, and continuous improvement. Serve as the primary liaison between departments to ensure timely communication and issue resolution. Conduct regular operational meetings to review priorities, schedules, and performance objectives. Support employee development, training, and performance management initiatives. Quality & Safety Ensure compliance with company quality standards, safety policies, and operational procedures. Promote a safe work environment and actively participate in safety training, audits, and improvement initiatives. Monitor workmanship and operational processes to maintain high-quality standards and customer satisfaction. Oversee the inspection and maintenance of shop equipment to promote a safe work environment and optimize equipment performance.
Qualifications Experience :
5+ years of experience in operations, project coordination, or process management—preferably in construction, manufacturing, or athletic seating industries. Operations Management, Construction Management, or a related field preferred (equivalent experience considered).
Technical Skills :
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and ERP systems. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical specifications, and utilize AutoCAD to create, modify, and review drawings as needed.
Organization :
Strong ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines while maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
Communication :
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
Problem Solving:
Analytical and resourceful with a proven ability to identify inefficiencies and implement process improvements.
