GTI Power Systems Operations Manager Position Summary The General Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of generator service operations, maintenance programs, technical support, personnel management, and business performance. This role combines advanced technical expertise in industrial power generation equipment with leadership responsibilities to ensure safe, efficient, and profitable operations. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with industrial generators, power systems, preventative maintenance programs, and team leadership. Key Responsibilities Operations Management Direct and manage daily operations of generator installation, maintenance, repair, and emergency service activities. Develop and implement operational procedures to maximize efficiency, productivity, and customer satisfaction. Oversee scheduling of technicians, projects, and service calls. Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and safety standards. Technical Leadership Provide expert technical guidance on diesel, natural gas, and industrial power generation systems. Support troubleshooting and repair of complex generator, transfer switch, and control system issues. Review technical reports, service documentation, and maintenance records. Ensure technicians are trained on current equipment technologies and best practices. Team Management Recruit, train, mentor, and evaluate generator technicians and support staff. Establish performance goals and conduct regular employee reviews. Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement. Coordinate ongoing technical and leadership development programs. Customer Relations Maintain strong relationships with industrial, commercial, municipal, and utility customers. Respond to customer concerns and ensure timely resolution of service issues. Assist with contract negotiations, service agreements, and project planning. Support sales efforts by providing technical expertise and operational insights. Safety & Compliance Conduct regular safety audits and enforce safe work practices. Maintain certifications, licenses, and documentation required for operations. Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions when necessary. Qualifications Required High school diploma or GED; technical degree or trade certification preferred. 10+ years of generator service and industrial power generation experience. Extensive knowledge of diesel and natural gas generators, transfer switches, switchgear, and power distribution systems. Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills. Valid driver's license and ability to travel to customer locations as required. Preferred Experience with CAT, Cummins, Kohler, Generac Industrial, or similar power generation equipment. OSHA certification and advanced safety training. Electrical, mechanical, or industrial maintenance certifications. Project management experience.
