Job Description:
Appalachian Heritage Hospitality is seeking a General Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of Summersville Lake State Park, the newest West Virginia State Park. The General Manager is responsible for delivering exceptional guest experiences, leading and developing a high-performing team, maintaining strong operational standards, and driving overall business success. This role serves as the on-site leader, working closely with company leadership at Appalachian Heritage Group, community partners, private companies, and state agencies to ensure the park operates efficiently, safely, and profitably. Key Responsibilities Lead all daily park operations, ensuring a safe, welcoming, and well-maintained environment for guests and staff. Recruit, train, coach, and develop team members while fostering a positive and accountable workplace culture. Deliver exceptional guest experiences and resolve issues with professionalism and urgency. Manage staffing, scheduling, payroll coordination, and employee performance. Monitor operational and financial performance, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, increase revenue, and control costs. Support events, programming, and guest engagement initiatives that enhance the park experience. Build and maintain strong relationships with guests, vendors, community partners, and state agencies. Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and applicable regulations. Collaborate with company leadership to execute strategic initiatives and support long-term growth. Qualifications Leadership experience in hospitality, lodging, tourism, campground, resort, recreation, or a related industry. Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Ability to lead teams in a fast-paced, guest-focused environment. Experience managing budgets, staffing, and operational performance metrics. Passion for hospitality, outdoor recreation, and creating memorable guest experiences.
