Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY
The Transportation Supervisor supports retail operations by managing the day-to-day execution of merchandise processing through the Distribution Network and ensure timely and accurate inbound and outbound deliveries.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Manages the workflow of Receiving by assigning trailers to appropriate dock doors to maximize throughput, including BOL paperwork. Manages the Outbound workflow and dispatching trailers both retail and direct business units Develops and maintains accuracy standards for deliveries and ensure PO's are booked and maintained with high quality standards. Aligns with business partners to resolve issues and ensure efficient service that meet business KPI's. Ensures dynamic staffing and training to meet company goals. Evaluates performance indicators to ensure SOP's are executed, without exception. Effectively manages staff to meet productivity goals. Utilizes reporting tools to manage the business and develop workflow plans. Partners with Peers and leaders on key business decisions and plans. Maintains open communication with Corporate partners. Ensures safety standards are communicated and incidents are reported in a timely manner and work closely with Safety Manger to reduce incidents and lost time. Evaluates and tracks level of service and accuracy standards. Manages the Inbound and Outbound yards and work with peers to maximize freight movement. Leads high performing teams to improve productivity and associate engagement. Leads direct reports to achieve processing goals in accordance with company policies and best practices. Manages Yard Jockey's safe driving, time management and accuracy. Increases associate engagement by communicating and developing a clear vision. Maintains open communication by setting clear objectives and removing barriers. Develops an effective staff through coaching, performance feedback and accountability.
ALL OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Degree Required:
Bachelor's Degree/or equivalent experience Years of experience: 3-5 years
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY
Prior Logistics experience preferred Prior experience managing teams in a distribution warehouse environment. Excel in a busy, fast paced environment. Working knowledge of automated distribution and warehouse systems, yard management, & bill of lading Strong interpersonal communication skills. Working knowledge of Radio Frequency technology, Windows, and Microsoft Office. Flexibility in hours to support multi-shift operations.

INDEPENDENT JUDGEMENT
Develops objectives and general policies and procedures for a specific program or functional area of responsibility within general scope of established operational goals and plans. Day-to-day work and decisions do not require direction or review by immediate supervisor. End results are reviewed by supervisor.
