Position:
Lumber Building Material Associate Summary:
The Lumber Building Material Associate is responsible for unloading, stocking and maintaining all inbound inventory; as well as assisting customers and sales associates with pulling, assembling and loading all outbound inventory for customer orders. Lumber Building Material Associates should be proficient in operating a forklift, hand-truck, pallet jack and other types of equipment to safely support moving and handling products at our facilities.Job Duties:
Unload inbound inventory and verify the quantity and quality of the product received Stock inventory in assigned locations and perform physical counts as requested Performs load-building, the process of pulling and assembling orders for our customer, for pick-up and delivery Develop proficiency in determining the appropriate weight, size, composition, and placement of a customer order to ensure the load is balanced for safe handling, hauling and maximized capacity utilization Maintain the appearance of the lumberyard and product racks in an orderly and clean manner. Assist customers in loading orders Communicate with sales associates Cross train duties where needed to back up other associates Perform other work duties as requestedRequirements:
Comply with all company safety standards, policies and procedures Use PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) including gloves, glasses, back belts and seat belts on forklifts Forklift Certification required Knowledge of product grades (lumber and plywood) a plus Customer service skills Communication Problem solving Attention to detail Able to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment Able to work scheduled shifts as assigned, arriving on-time, as well as additional time as required based on the business needsPhysical Requirements Job Type:
