Hours for this position are 5:00pm-5:30am. The Packer makes an impact by - Handle food in various forms and place in primary or secondary packaging. Monitor in accordance to SOP and /or MBR the code date on packaging. Assist filler operator as required. Assist filler operator and freezer operator in startup, changeovers and shut down processes. Handle each product in a food safe manner preventing contamination or foreign matter for entering finished product. Ensure the product contents and packaging of finished goods are sent into the VRT match. Perform the required data input into the master batch record. Through a good working knowledge of inventory locations, inventory sizes, types, pallet counts and patterns, assist in the transfers of materials throughout the material handling process chain. Tasks include housekeeping, general sanitation and product quality assessment responsibilities throughout the manufacturing process. Maintain the integrity of the quality system. Be engaged in the day-to-day running of the business by performing tasks beyond normal/baseline job responsibilities, participating in team or business improvement meetings and initiatives positioned toward improving business results. The employee is required to talk and/or hear in a manufacturing setting where noise levels are high (PPE required). The employee is required to wear mandated PPE based on assigned job area. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk in an manufacturing environment for 8+ hours. The employee must be able to ascend and descend stairs, and where applicable and when necessary, to perform various job-related tasks. Must be able to position self to move, reach with arms/hands, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as needed to perform various job-related tasks. The employee must be able to inspect all job-related equipment (office or floor) to ensure it is in good working condition prior to use. Must be able to use hands/fingers to handle (or feel) to operate various types of office equipment. Must be able to operate all job-related equipment (powered, hand or office) as required.
