SpokeX Bike Co. — Custom Wheels Premium Bikes Performance Gear About the Role SpokeX is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Bike Builder & Packer to join our growing operations team. This position is responsible for ensuring every bike leaves our shop fully inspected, professionally built, and packed to our high SpokeX standards. You'll work closely with our sales, wheel building, and customer service teams to keep builds moving smoothly and customers informed every step of the way. Key Responsibilities Receive incoming bikes and components; inspect for damage or discrepancies Build bikes to factory specifications and SpokeX quality standards Test-ride each build for shifting, brake performance, and ride quality Diagnose and verify functionality of e-bike systems (battery, motor, electrical) Label and track orders correctly, updating order comments and build notes in our system Coordinate with purchasing to ensure all missing parts or consumables are ordered Maintain accurate updates for customer service and sales teams regarding build status and lead times Work with wheel building department on custom wheel requests or pending builds Ensure proper stock levels of boxes, packing materials, and shop consumables Box bikes according to SpokeX shipping standards, leaving one side open for final inspection before shipping Communicate any delays, issues, or notes that need to be relayed to customers Qualifications Prior experience building bicycles (retail or service shop experience preferred) Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Familiarity with major brands (Yeti, Santa Cruz, Orbea, Transition, etc.) and drivetrain systems (Shimano, SRAM, Bosch, etc.) Ability to diagnose e-bikes and ensure proper function Comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment Basic computer literacy (Shopify or POS experience is a plus) What We Offer Competitive hourly pay based on experience Growth opportunities within a rapidly expanding performance bike brand Access to employee pricing on bikes, gear, and components Fun, collaborative shop culture centered around bikes and good vibes
