Summary:

The Packaging Associate is responsible for the precise and hygienic manufacturing and packaging of high-quality equine nutritional supplements. This role requires adherence to strict quality standards, including cGMPs, SOPs, and FSMA regulations, while efficiently operating machinery and maintaining a clean work environment. The successful candidate must be detail-oriented, reliable, and committed to product integrity.

Key Responsibilities:

Manufacturing and Packaging:

Operate and troubleshoot various packaging machinery used for filling, sealing, and labeling finished product containers. Fill manually as necessary. Execute the accurate packaging of powder, pellet, and paste supplement forms according to specific batch records and packaging instructions. Perform packaging and assembly tasks manually as necessary to meet production targets and quality requirements. Verify weight, count, and integrity of packaged products to ensure specifications are met.

Quality and Compliance:

Strictly adhere to Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs) , Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) requirements at all times. Maintain meticulous and legible documentation of production activities, including batch records, cleaning logs, and quality checks. Monitor production processes and raw materials for any deviation or quality issue and report immediately to a supervisor.

Sanitation and Maintenance:

Maintain excellent hygiene and cleanliness throughout the production and packaging area daily, following established cleaning schedules and procedures. Perform pre-operation and post-operation cleaning and sanitation of equipment and work stations. Assist with inventory control by organizing and moving materials, supplies, and finished goods.

Safety and Teamwork:

Comply with all company safety policies, including the use of required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Work effectively as a strong team player to maximize output and efficiency while maintaining a positive work environment. Assist with other production duties as needed.

Qualifications and Physical Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent. Prior experience in a manufacturing, production, or warehouse environment is preferred, ideally within the food, supplement, or pharmaceutical industries. Demonstrated ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions (SOPs, batch records). Must be able to stand for long periods of time and perform repetitive tasks. Must have the ability to lift 40 pounds repeatedly throughout the shift. Basic math and measurement skills are required for weighing and counting product. Spanish speaking required
