Job Description

Position Summary:
The Lead Packer is a key role responsible for leading and coordinating packing operations to ensure efficient and accurate packaging of food products. They will oversee a team of packers, provide training, and ensure adherence to quality control standards and safety protocols. The Lead Packer will also collaborate with other departments, monitor inventory levels, and maintain a clean and organized packing area, contributing to the smooth and timely distribution of food products to customers. What you'll do: Pack, weigh and label completed items for shipment or storage Follow all company guidelines regarding packaging to ensure items arrive at their destination Identify and dispose of defective items before they are shipped to customers Properly use packaging materials, including hand tools, glues, nails, padding, etc. Keep complete records of all materials that go through the warehouse Lead and supervise a team of packers to ensure efficient and accurate packaging of food products according to established guidelines and standards. Train and onboard new packers, providing guidance on packing techniques, safety procedures, and quality control measures. Monitor packing operations, including inventory levels, packaging materials, and equipment, to maintain adequate supply and prevent disruptions. Maintain a clean and organized packing area, following sanitation protocols and food safety regulations, to uphold product quality and safety standards.
About you:
High school diploma/GED preferred. Proven work experience as a Packer or similar role Experience in manufacturing or related field is preferred Basic shop skills, such as using hand tools Ability to follow verbal and written instructions Strong communication skills and desire to work with other team members
