Job Description

Job Title LTO II
  • Quality Control Department Position Overview Position Objective:
    To transport merchandise from trailers to storage locations and from storage areas to trailers for shipping safely and cost effectively. Essential Duties (Considering job knowledge, job environment, effort, manipulative skill, judgment, safety knowledge and responsibility):
  • Receiving a pull task with information on the tile material to be pulled and retrieving the correct material with a lift truck.
  • Transporting a pallet by forklift to and from locations.
  • Complete paperwork as required.
  • Wrap and band tile materials prepared on pallets. Prepare and package miscellaneous items in boxes for shipment.
  • Tape and repair any damaged packaging.
  • Raise or lower dock leveler.
  • Attendance is an essential function of the job, you must comply with the corporate absenteeism and tardiness policy.
  • Must adhere to our normal work schedule, i.e. starting and stopping times, and where applicable rotating days.
  • Must be able to work necessary overtime.
NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES
(Consider job knowledge, job environment, effort, manipulative skill, judgment, safety knowledge, and responsibility):
  • Helping to keep shipping/receiving area clean.
  • Performing the duties of other lift truck operators when necessary.
Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to sit on lift truck for entire shift.
  • Must be able to stand on lift truck for entire shift Must be able to mount/dismount lift truck on an average 15 times per hour.
  • Must pass eye exam given by company nurse.
  • Must be able to work in a warehouse environment which may be quite warm or cool.
  • Must be able to bend and lift up to 100 lbs. as needed, up to 20 or more times an hour for 8 hours.
  • Must be able to work from turret truck up to 30 feet in the air.
Other requirements:
  • Must be able to read, write and comprehend shipping documents, bin locations and orders.
  • Must be able to perform simple mathematics (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
  • Must be able to read and understand instructions displaced on R.
F. unit.
Training Requirements:
  • Must complete corporate orientation training program (New Hires).
  • Must complete OJT training, quality-related training, and safety related training required.
  • Must complete onsite training program.
  • Must complete Lift Truck Training Program.
  • Must complete Central Hiring New Employee Orientation Program.
Tool, Equipment and Material Requirements:
  • Lift truck
  • a vehicle with forks or pole used to move tile and other materials.
  • Turret truck
  • a vehicle that works in narrow aisle that transports operator to top shelf of racks.
  • Safety glasses
  • protection equipment worn over the eyes.
  • Wrapper
  • machine that applies plastic wrap around boxes of tile on pallets
  • Dock leveler
  • bridge used to span the gap between a building and a trailer in the dock door.
