job summary: Packaging Engineer needed for an immediate 6 month contract opportunity with high potential for direct conversion right in the Augusta, GA area! Qualified candidates will have a BS in engineering in a related field with a minimum of 3 years of packaging process experience.. The right person for this key role will work closely with existing outside vendors performing process improvements. This PM type role will support packaging requirements from suppliers to customer delivery. The packaging engineer works closely with multiple cross functional teams to develop cost effective and sustainable solutions to optimize process flow and quality. Overview of the design containers to support supply chain, material flow and line presentation with lean manufacturing process flow objectiveCollaborate with Supplier Quality Team to complete PPAP documentationSupport sustainability objectives by minimizing expendable material and process wasteIdentify and execute packaging cost saving opportunities by taking advantage of emerging packaging industry products and technologies Requirements Bachelor's degree in Packaging, Engineering (Industrial or Mechanical) along with 3+ years of experience in manufacturing, supply chain and/or logistics experience desirable.
