Job Description Packer Feeder Monroe, Georgia Compensation Includes Starting Pay Rate of $16.50/hour Available Shift 7am - 7pm, Friday - Sunday Responsibilities Feeds unglued cartons into high-speed gluing machines Packs sleeves of glued cartons into cases; may be required to bag sleeves or place in packing trays prior to casing Inspects cartons for defects and notifies operator or supervisor when defects are found Completes quality paperwork Follows LOTO and alternative LOTO procedures Keeps work area clean Feeds a maximum of 21 lanes; if catching lines, the feeder will feed 18 and catch 1 Performs other related duties as assigned to support operational success Qualifications Grade 10 or equivalent education; up to and including 3 months of related training or experience Ability to add and subtract four-digit numbers Basic knowledge of machinery or processes required May be required to stop machines, shut off glue lines, and clear jammed cartons Must be able to read, write, and understand basic English Able to communicate effectively, interact positively with coworkers and management, and maintain professionalism under pressure Must follow well-defined guidelines with limited options for deviation and make decisions regarding product quality and acceptability Physical Demands Required to stand and walk continuously Constant lifting up to 10 lbs; occasional lifting and carrying up to 40 lbs Frequently pushes cases of cartons weighing up to 40 lbs Requires high manual dexterity; good hand-eye coordination is essential for high-speed work Constant repetitive movement of hands, fingers, and wrists Good color vision required to distinguish printed shades and colors Work Environment Constant noise levels above 85 db Dust from paper converting processes may be present Frequent exposure to machinery and forklifts Works in shared common areas without divided workspace Steel-toed footwear, safety glasses, hearing protection, hair nets, and beard nets are required in manufacturing areas May experience temperature extremes depending on outside weather conditions Company Benefits What You'll Get From Us Benefits With safety as our top priority and a commitment to employee well-being an important focus, we offer comprehensive and competitive benefits that include medical, dental and vision insurance as well as a variety of other well-being resources focused on mental, physical and financial health.
