Job Description

Position Summary:
Primary responsibility of the position is to ensure that the Roast Plant produces the highest quality of roasted coffee for Kauai Coffee s distribution centers.
Primary Functions:
Assist roasting operations with creating finished coffee products that meet or exceed the highest standards of quality set by Kauai Coffee Company. Participate in annual food safety training. Participate in the annual Food Safety Audit. Assist with packaging line change over as needed. Assist with packaging production runs to meet scheduling requirements per established work standards. Flavor coffee on scheduled flavoring days. Assist packaging line operations with quality checks, clipping bags, boxing, palletizing, shrink wrapping, counting and staging of finish product. Accurately complete OEE tracking log. Use 2-way radio to call FGW to pick up completed pallets. Assist with labeling of bags and prepping boxes for next-day production run. Vacuum ground coffees into holding tank as required per daily production schedule. Participates in regular maintenance of all Roast Plant equipment and facilities. Assist with daily housekeeping duties to ensure Food Safety Standards are implemented Use pallet jack throughout the shift May operate forklift to retrieve dry goods and/or pallets. Stocking inventory in dry goods area. Assist with moving pallets in or out of shipping containers. Complies with all Federal, State, Local and Company safety, health and environmental regulations. Complies with all Company Rules and Company Policies.
Qualifications/Skills/Knowledge Requirements:
Incumbent must be proficient in reading, writing, speaking and taking instructions in the English language. Competent in basic mathematics and possess basic computer skills. Ability to use hand tools. Requires standing, climbing, bending, and lifting for long periods of time; at least 8 hours. Capable of lifting 100-lb. coffee bags utilizing team lift. Forklift training/certification will be provided to the right candidate.
