Job Title:
Production Associate - 2nd Shift Job Description This role supports a busy warehouse operation by performing a variety of production and material-handling tasks on the 2nd shift. You will primarily pull and prepare copper tubing and pipe for shipment to major retail customers, ensuring each order is accurately picked, protected, labeled, and packaged for safe delivery. The position offers hands-on work across multiple departments, including cutting, bundling, loading, and shipping, with opportunities to learn new skills and grow within the organization. Responsibilities Move copper pipe and tubing to designated pick locations in the warehouse. Accurately pull orders according to work orders and customer requirements. Bar code and label pipe to ensure correct identification and traceability. Bundle and wrap pipe securely to prepare it for handling and shipment. Cut pipe according to specified cut sheets and production requirements. Perform scrap segregation and identification to support proper material handling. Wrap finished product for shipment to ensure it is protected during transit. Unload inbound trucks as needed to receive materials and products. Load outbound shipments safely and efficiently for delivery to customers. Use basic hand tools and production equipment as required for daily tasks. Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work area. Work collaboratively with team members across departments such as saw operation, receiving, shipping, and work orders. Essential Skills Experience in production, general labor, or a warehouse environment. Ability to operate basic hand tools safely and effectively. Ability to assist with machine operating tasks related to cutting and handling pipe. Experience with shipping and receiving activities, including loading and unloading. Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, moving, and bundling materials. Strong attention to detail when pulling orders, labeling, and packaging products. Basic inventory awareness to support accurate picking and material movement. Ability to follow written work orders, cut sheets, and labeling instructions. Willingness to work 2nd shift hours from 1:00pm to 9:30pm. Additional Skills & Qualifications Previous experience with assembly, labeling, and packaging in a warehouse or production setting. Familiarity with barcoding systems and labeling processes. Comfort working in multiple departments such as saw operation, receiving, and shipping. Ability to learn new tasks quickly and adapt to changing production needs. Interest in cross-training to increase versatility and eligibility for production incentives. Why Work Here? Work Environment The role is based in a non-climate-controlled warehouse environment, which can be hot during the summer and cold in the winter months. Noise levels are usually quiet to moderate but can become loud at times depending on the department and the use of tools or equipment. You will work on 2nd shift from 1:00pm to 9:30pm, handling copper pipe and tubing, operating basic tools and production equipment, and moving materials throughout the facility. The work is hands-on and physical, involving standing, walking, lifting, and handling bundled product throughout the shift. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of East Moline, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $16.00 - $18.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
