Packer - Itasca, IL 7AM-4:30PM
MONDAY-THURSDAY 7AM-11AM FRIDAY
$19/hr

  • Job Description The Packer role involves accurately packing and labeling a variety of products by hand according to product specifications, while maintaining high quality standards and a clean, organized work area.
You will work in a fast-paced environment, handle materials safely, and support production goals by monitoring your own work, recording accurate production data, and contributing to continuous process improvements. Responsibilities Pack and package a variety of products by hand according to product specifications and instructions. Label products and packages with the correct lot number, part number, and other required information. Properly seal packages to ensure product integrity and prevent damage during handling and shipping. Monitor your own work to ensure products meet all quality, customer, and company requirements. Maintain a clean and organized individual work area and contribute to the cleanliness of all shared and community spaces. Understand and support optimization of uptime, production rates, quality, and yield, including participating in process improvement efforts. Accurately record daily production information, including quantities, scrap, packaging details, sizes, dates, product types, and lot numbers. Participate in and contribute to the company's quality management system and related activities. Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines at all times. Perform general labor tasks such as loading, unloading, picking, and material handling as needed. Assist with shipping and receiving activities, including preparing skids and packaging for outbound shipments. Perform other duties as assigned to support production and warehouse operations. Essential Skills Ability to pack and package products by hand with accuracy and attention to detail. Experience with labeling products and packaging, including applying correct lot and part numbers. Capability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials weighing approximately 20-50 pounds safely and repeatedly. Comfort working in a fast-paced, multi-tasking production or warehouse environment. Basic computer comfort to enter or review production and labeling information. Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division, with and without a calculator. Ability to bend, stoop, push, pull, grasp, reach, kneel, and twist frequently throughout the shift. Strong focus on quality, process, and meeting production goals. Team-oriented mindset with a positive, can-do attitude. Ability to identify and help resolve problems in a timely manner and collaborate with others in problem-solving situations. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in production, general labor, or warehouse environments such as packing, picking, and material handling. Experience in shipping and receiving activities, including loading and unloading materials. Familiarity with packaging requirements, skid preparation, and handling various product sizes and types. Comfort working with a quality management system and following documented procedures. Why Work Here? The environment involves hands-on work with packaging, labeling, loading, unloading, and general material handling. You will use basic computer systems to enter production and labeling information and will follow established safety procedures and company policies. The workspace includes both individual stations and shared community areas that are kept clean and organized to support safe and efficient operations, with practical work attire suitable for an active, physical role in a production and warehouse facility. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
