Job Title:

Production Operator Job Description We are seeking a dedicated Production Operator to join our team. The role involves handling heavy materials, operating equipment, and ensuring the quality of packaged products. This position requires physical stamina and attention to detail to maintain a high standard of operation. Responsibilities Lift and place 50lbs bags of products onto a conveyor. Palletize and stretch wrap finished pallets. Operate, monitor, and adjust bagging machines to ensure accurate and consistent packaging. Calibrate scales, load materials, and verify correct bag types. Inspect filled bags for correct weight, seal integrity, labeling accuracy, and overall quality. Maintain accurate production records, including bag counts, material usage, downtime, and quality checks. Assist with staging raw materials and finished goods, including lifting and positioning bags or film rolls. Keep the work area clean, organized, and compliant with safety standards. Essential Skills Experience with labor-intensive tasks involving chemicals. Ability to stand all day and wear an N95 mask for the majority of the shift. Consistent ability to lift 50-60lbs. Familiarity with forklift operation is a plus. Additional Skills & Qualifications Previous experience working with and around chemicals is preferred. Comfortable working indoors and outside, as 50% of the day could be spent outdoors. Why Work Here? Work Environment This role is based in a heavy-duty industrial environment involving chemical storage, handling, and distribution logistics. The facility is non-union, with approximately 100 employees. Candidates must be comfortable working near hazardous chemicals and be prepared for both indoor and outdoor tasks. The work hours are from 6 AM to 2:30 PM or 7 AM to 3:30 PM. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Joliet, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
