Job Description

Your assignment As a key member of our operations team, you are responsible for locating, selecting, and picking products from storage to fulfill customer orders. You will operate industrial forklifts to move materials around a warehouse, while ensuring that the correct quantity and quality of items are picked and properly prepare for packaging or shipping. This is a fast-paced environment that utilizes barcode scanners and a warehouse management system to track inventory.
Essential duties:
Order Picking:
Locate and retrieve products based on order specifications, using handheld scanners. Ensure accuracy by cross-referencing item numbers, product descriptions, and quantities.
Packaging:
Properly pack items to ensure safe transportation.
Inventory Management:
Assist with maintaining accurate stock records by scanning items as they are picked.
Quality Control:
Inspect products for damage or discrepancies, ensuring the correct items and quantities are selected.
Loading/Unloading:
Assist with loading items onto delivery trucks or unloading incoming stock when necessary.
Organization:
Keep the picking area clean and organized, ensuring efficient operation.
Safety Compliance:
Follow all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment. Other duties as assigned.
Required skills:
Valid Forklift Certification:
Must have a valid certification to operate a forklift/Hi-Lo. Stand up Hi-Lo experience.
Experience:
Previous experience as a forklift operator in a warehouse or manufacturing environment is required.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift heavy materials (often up to 50 lbs.) and stand for long periods. Attention to
Detail:
Accuracy in moving, picking, and storing materials.
Safety-Conscious:
Knowledge of safety regulations related to warehouse operations and machinery.
Basic Computer Skills:
Must have the ability to utilize a warehouse management system (WMS) to track inventory. Ability to work in a variety of climates conditions. Availability to work overtime, and occasional weekend work depending on the warehouse's operational needs.
Success criteria:
Safety is number 1. You are operating a heavy piece of machinery and how you handle it will make the difference. The job must be performed in adherence with established safety standards. The role requires the ability to create/build loads in a manner that ensures the products' safe and undamaged arrival at our customers. Additionally, the load should be constructed in a way that is logical and convenient for the customer to down stack and check-in. Quality of work and quality of product are integral to our brands and success. The rule of thumb when selecting a product for a customer should be "Would I buy that?" If the packaging is damaged, if the quality looks suspect - it should not be sent to a customer but rather pulled out of the dedicated location and brought to the manager's attention. Our goal is for every eligible order to ship within 24 hours of receipt. This occasionally requires working additional hours in a given day to accomplish. Our success depends upon one another both within our department and within our organization. Data integrity is key to this success and one of our greatest tools for success. Therefore, it is critical in this role that accuracy of work always be a priority.
Qualifications:
Previous experience as a forklift operator in a warehouse or manufacturing environment. Be an outstanding person and teammate, elevating those around you.
