Job Description
Position Summary The Packer/Crater is responsible for protecting customer equipment and preparing it for shipment according to industry standards and internal specifications. This role requires the ability to interpret hard cards, shop drawings, and CAD sheets to ensure proper packing and crating methods are followed. Primary Responsibilities Assess packing plans and escalate any issues or concerns Safely operate required equipment, including power tools and saws Complete assigned jobs within budgeted timeframes Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) for packing, bagging, military, and customer-specific requirements Properly block and brace equipment to prevent movement or damage during transport Ensure all crates are correctly labeled and stenciled Complete QA documentation and required paperwork accurately Operate forklifts safely and efficiently Accurately track and record time per company policies Pack and bag products at facility or on customer sites as required Maintain positive working relationships with team members Secondary Responsibilities Assist with general production support tasks such as cleaning and maintenance Help with container loading and unloading Assemble crates, skids, and other packaging as needed Required Skills & Qualifications Ability to interpret CAD drawings, packing instructions, and specifications Experience using hand tools and power tools Strong attention to detail and quality standards Forklift operation experience Good time management and organizational skills Ability to work effectively in a team environment Work Environment & Physical Requirements Warehouse or production setting Frequent lifting, bending, and standing Ability to safely handle equipment and heavy materials
