DSI OPERATOR
9304 Oakland, Mississippi General Labor / Operator / Sanitation Second Shift Regular Full-Time No
JOB DESCRIPTION
Position Summary This position is responsible for ensuring the efficient and accurate flow of raw materials and packaging supplies to production lines, tracking their usage in the DSI system, and maintaining quality standards throughout the production process. The DSI operator plays a key role in monitoring inventory, coordinating changeovers, and managing finished goods to support seamless manufacturing operations. Position Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Material Preparation and Issuance:
Gather and prepare picking lists/orders for daily production requirements. Issue raw materials and packaging supplies, including bags, cartons, film, corrugate, and pallets, to the appropriate production lines. Verify and inspect packaging materials for quality, damage, and correct item numbers before delivery to packout by forklift drivers.
Production Monitoring and Documentation:
Track material usage and perform accurate system entries using the DSI system, ensuring materials are issued to the correct order number and production line. Maintain detailed records for each line regarding the usage of all packaging materials.
Finished Goods Management:
Verify completed finished goods, including pallet and case quantities, and generate pallet identification tags for accurate labeling. Inspect finished goods pallets and cases for quality and damage prior to removal from packout.
Changeovers and Returns:
Plan and coordinate product changeovers at least one hour prior to start time, ensuring a smooth transition between production runs. Accurately manage the return of unused packaging materials at the end of each production run, marking materials with clear identifying information.
Quality Control and Compliance:
Conduct two-hour inspections during shifts and submit reports to the Supervisor at the end of each shift. Ensure adherence to all company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
Team Collaboration:
Assist with related duties as assigned to support production efficiency and overall team success. Temperatures throughout plant average 50 degrees. May be required to wear bump caps, safety glasses, hairnet, smock, boots, ear plugs, gloves, plastic sleeves, and aprons provided by the Company. Need to comply with
Food Safety:
GMP'S, SSOP, SOP, HACCP, SQF, and Quality requirements. Position Qualifications Minimum of 6 months of manufacturing experience required; 1-3 years preferred. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Familiarity with production operations and inventory systems, particularly DSI (preferred). Attention to detail with a commitment to quality assurance. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Experience in manufacturing, production, or related fields is a plus.

Occasional walking, reaching and working above shoulders, body bending, stooping, climbing stairs, body twisting/rotating, and driving a palletjack. Will be exposed to loud industrial type environments commonly found at plants and working with powered equipment. Varied temperatures from hot and humid to very cold.
