Shop Helper Job Description The primary responsibility of this role is to pack, prepare orders for shipment, and load them onto semis and flatbeds. Forklift operation will be required for approximately 15-20% of the time. Additionally, when not engaged in shipping or receiving tasks, you will assist with assembling or blasting attachments for forklifts, skid steers, and telehandlers. The role also involves using a tape measure to read measurements down to 1/16", using a computer to pull paperwork for shipping, and pulling stock from shelving. You must be capable of lifting up to 50 lbs. Responsibilities Pack and prepare orders for shipment. Load shipments onto semis and flatbeds. Operate forklifts (15-20% of the time). Assist with assembling or blasting attachments for forklifts, skid steers, and telehandlers. Use tape measure for precise measurements. Utilize computer systems to manage shipping paperwork. Pull stock from shelving. Collaborate with Production Manager to prioritize tasks. Essential Skills Proficiency with hand and power tools. Familiarity with shipping and receiving processes. Ability to read and understand blueprints. Forklift operation experience. General labor skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with awkward-shaped loading is helpful. Flexibility to assist across various shop duties, including blasting, assembly, and material handling. Training on forklift operation will be provided. Why Work Here? Standard working hours are from 7 AM to 5 PM or possibly 8 AM to 5 PM. Steel-toed boots are required, and additional personal protective equipment (PPE) is available if desired. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Casselton, ND. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
