Job Description

Job Title:
Packer Job Description As a Packer, you will assist with packaging activities while adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and the company's HACCP plan requirements for SQF compliance, sanitation, traceability, and quality standards. You will be involved in various tasks, including organizing inventory, preparing items for shipment, collaborating on a production line, staging packing material or finished goods, packaging, cleaning your workstation, and other responsibilities assigned by management. Responsibilities Follow all safety and cGMP guidelines as per the company's Food Safety and Quality Programs. Maintain a clean work area. Operate and monitor packaging machinery in compliance with company procedures and safety guidelines. Report any food quality or safety issues to your supervisor. Perform equipment setup, adjustments, and changeovers according to production schedules and product specifications. Conduct regular quality checks of packaged goods to ensure they meet established standards. Monitor the production process and follow production guidelines and specifications. Monitor packaging materials and supplies and replenish as needed. Report any machine failure, including the frequency and type of failure. Essential Skills Strong team player. Good communication skills; bilingualism is a plus. Willingness and ability to learn new tasks. Flexibility with scheduling and ability to work multiple shifts. Problem-solving skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications Medium work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally. Ability to stand for up to 8 hours. Capability to extend hands and arms in any direction. Ability to apply pressure with fingers and palm. Ability to perceive sounds at normal speaking levels and receive detailed information through oral communication. Visual ability to perform inspections involving small defects and distinguish colors. Capability to express or exchange ideas through spoken word. Capability to bend the body downwards and forward by bending at the waist, leg, and spine. Ability to move about on foot to accomplish tasks. Subject to hazards such as moving mechanical parts like conveyors. Ability to work in a refrigerated environment. Ability to stand for sustained periods and go up and down stairs. Why Work Here? Work Environment The work schedule includes overnight shifts on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 8:30 pm to 9:00 am, with a 4-hour paid incentive. The manufacturing environment follows strict GMP guidelines, and you will need to adhere to a dress code that prohibits jewelry and makeup. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Piscataway, NJ. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $17.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
