Job Description

  • Job Title:
    Order Picker
  • Job Description
  • The Order Picker accurately picks, packs, and stocks a wide range of inventory in a busy warehouse environment. This role uses RF scanning devices, pallet jacks, forklifts, and computers to support receiving, shipping, and order fulfillment activities while maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Responsibilities
  • + Use RF scan guns to locate and verify inventory accurately.
+ Pick, pack, and pull items according to item type, quantity, and order requirements. + Handle a variety of products, including large metal and PVC piping as well as small fasteners and endcaps, depending on the phase of construction projects. + Operate material handling equipment such as pallet jacks, forklifts, and push carts based on inventory type and handling needs. + Organize and maintain the staging area according to priority to ensure efficient order flow. + Maintain a clean and orderly work environment, including sweeping and mopping as needed. + Operate computers at the will-call booth to process orders and support customer pickups. + Assist internal and external customers with item lookups, availability checks, and order placement. + Support receiving operations with a focus on accurately processing incoming inventory. + Follow all warehouse safety procedures and equipment operating guidelines.
  • Essential Skills
  • + Experience in warehouse, labor, or material handling roles.
+ Ability to count accurately and maintain attention to detail when picking and packing orders. + Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and maneuver up to 100 lbs safely. + Experience with RF devices or RF scan guns for inventory and order management. + Experience with order picking, order pulling, shipping, receiving, or inventory control. + Ability to operate pallet jacks and forklifts or willingness to use forklifts after completing required training. + Comfort working with both large items such as 10-15 ft metal or PVC pipes and small components like bolts and fasteners. + Ability to communicate in English to support safe operations and customer interactions. + Comfort working in varying temperatures in indoor/outdoor warehouse conditions.
  • Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • + Previous experience in a warehouse environment with a focus on receiving is highly desirable.
+ Experience using electronic RF devices for order picking and inventory control. + Forklift experience or certification is a plus and will be utilized after completing required training. + Experience as a material handler or in similar logistics roles is beneficial. + Experience working with plumbing supplies or construction materials is an advantage. + Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.

  • The role is based in a large warehouse filled with plumbing supplies, including 10-15 ft pipes, metal and PVC piping, and small bolts and fasteners.
Work takes place in both indoor and outdoor areas regardless of weather conditions, so temperatures can be very hot in the summer and very cold in the winter. The position involves regular use of RF scan guns, pallet jacks, forklifts, push carts, and computer systems at the will-call booth. The environment is active and physically demanding, with frequent lifting, maneuvering of heavy items, and maintaining cleanliness through tasks such as sweeping and mopping.

  • This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tigard, OR.
  • Pay and Benefits
  • The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your jobclassification and length of employment.
