• Job Overview
• We are seeking a dedicated Packer/Shipper to join our team at a busy warehouse. The ideal candidate will be responsible for handling various materials, packing orders, and ensuring accurate shipment of products.
• Responsibilities
• Sorting, counting, and wrapping/packing material on pallets or into bundles
• Properly count & record information on shipping reports
• Inspecting product for defects such as wane, splits, runs, burn through, uneven finish, & poor quality
• Movement of material with pallet jack or forklift in a safe manner
• Required to stand, walk, bend, twist and lift up to 50 lbs
• Be able to remain calm & function effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Manage your time to complete the shipping process to meet required deadlines
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment in the warehouse
• Help out in other areas as needed
• Skills
• Must be 18 years or older
• Previous experience in a distribution center or warehouse setting is preferred
• Proficiency in materials handling
• Ability to operate fork lift & pallet jack
• Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate order fulfillment
• Capability to handle physical demands of the job, including lifting and moving heavy items
• Organized & meticulous
• Capable of using power tools, hand tools, & wood cutting equipment
• Ability to learn what material each customer gets by color, size, & species
• Ability to read a tape measure accurately
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply & divide
• Be a team player
• Have good communication skills
