- We are seeking a dedicated Packer/Shipper to join our team at a busy warehouse. The ideal candidate will be responsible for handling various materials, packing orders, and ensuring accurate shipment of products.
- Responsibilities
- Sorting, counting, and wrapping/packing material on pallets or into bundles
- Properly count & record information on shipping reports
- Inspecting product for defects such as wane, splits, runs, burn through, uneven finish, & poor quality
- Movement of material with pallet jack or forklift in a safe manner
- Required to stand, walk, bend, twist and lift up to 50 lbs
- Be able to remain calm & function effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Manage your time to complete the shipping process to meet required deadlines
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment in the warehouse
- Help out in other areas as needed
- Skills
- Must be 18 years or older
- Previous experience in a distribution center or warehouse setting is preferred
- Proficiency in materials handling
- Ability to operate fork lift & pallet jack
- Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate order fulfillment
- Capability to handle physical demands of the job, including lifting and moving heavy items
- Organized & meticulous
- Capable of using power tools, hand tools, & wood cutting equipment
- Ability to learn what material each customer gets by color, size, & species
- Ability to read a tape measure accurately
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply & divide
- Be a team player
- Have good communication skills
