Job Description

Opal Foods is accepting applications for the full-time hybrid position of Quality Control Technician and Packing for our Roggen, CO Processing Plant. This position will work as a QC Tech 2-3 days per week and will pick up remaining hours in processing plant helping to package the eggs. The QC Tech is responsible for ensuring that all products meet or exceed USDA and customer specifications. Also monitors the food safety and sanitation procedures to ensure compliance with the company quality policy.
Position Responsibilities:
Perform pre-op sanitation inspectionMonitor and record condition of nest run productMonitor and record condition of finished productVerify labeling and packaging of finished productVerify and record operating parameters of processing equipment in accordance with HACCP and GMP programsMonitor and record sanitation conditions of facility during processingProperly maintain all test instruments and suppliesAny other tasks/job duties as assigned by the leadership team
Requirements:
(knowledge, experience, skills, education)Follow all Opal Foods Policies and Procedures including but not limited to Safety, Bio-security, FDA, SQF, HACCP and GMPExcellent attention to detail, ability to complete work tasks efficiently and be able to speak, read and write in EnglishAbility to establish and maintain good working relationships with employees, customers and visitors - this position requires a "team" attitudeAbility to multitask, be flexible and be able to adapt to change and variety in the workplaceHigh school diploma or equivalentFood manufacturing and/or quality control experience preferred
Requirements:
(physical)Requires walking, standing, bending, stooping, turning, reaching, manual dexterity, eye-hand coordination to obtain readings and verify code datesMust be able to stand for extended periods while hand candling eggsMust be dependable and be able to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidaysMust have a flexible schedule to help other departments should they need assistance on a particular day
