Job Description

We work 12-hour shifts, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and some Thursdays.
B-shift:
8pm - 8am Mostly 36 hours but maybe required to work up to 48 hours Attendance is very important
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
.
  • Review schedule concerning set running at the start of the shift and sets to be loaded. Change cooking moisture charts.
  • Using a hoist, ensure section beams are loaded into the creel and are the correct ones as scheduled.
  • Pull the yarns through the slasher and count them into the comb as prescribed by set instructions.
  • Use lease rods and strings to keep the yarns separated and straight throughout the process.
  • Prepare the sizing solution according to a given formula and ensure its accuracy.
  • Introduce the solution into the machine at the proper viscosity and temperature.
Required Skills and Abilities:
  • Aptitude for math, computers, and mechanics.
  • Documentation and reporting require reading and writing in English.
  • Attention to detail to identify maintenance, product, or operation issues.
  • Ability to comprehend and follow written instruction including daily production schedule.
  • Run slasher, patrol on regular basis watching for laps on section beams, laps in size boxes, draw backs on beams, high and low selvages. Watch front for wild yarn and break outs, keep warp comb adjusted and yarn even on beam. Watch size levels in boxes as you patrol. Clean squeeze rolls as needed.
  • Using a hoist or beam truck, load an empty loom beam to begin, and unload it when full.
  • In sure the machine is operated correctly, verifying speeds, tensions, and temperatures as prescribed.
  • Monitor the machine and yarn to insure consistent results.
  • Keep all production records.
  • Work with others in the slasher area to assist them as needed.
  • Perform housekeeping and organization duties.
  • Notify Supervisor or Dept Manager of any problems that may arise.
  • Must properly wear Personal Protective Equipment as required for the task being performed.
  • Follow all departmental and plant Safety Rules and work rules requirements.
  • Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures
  • In addition to the above job duties, employees are expected to perform any additional duties or tasks assigned by supervision.
