Job Summary The Order Picker is responsible for accurately selecting, moving, and preparing footwear merchandise for shipment to retail stores and customers. This role requires safely operating a forklift while meeting productivity, quality, and safety standards in a fast-paced distribution center environment. Key Responsibilities Accurately pick customer and store orders using RF scanners, pick lists, or warehouse management systems Operate a forklift safely to move, stage, load, or retrieve merchandise from rack locations Select correct footwear styles, sizes, and quantities Pack products according to company and safety standards Label cartons and prepare orders for shipping Meet daily productivity, quality, and accuracy goals Perform visual inspections to ensure product quality and correct labeling Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area Follow all OSHA safety regulations, forklift safety procedures, and company policies Assist with additional warehouse tasks as assigned (replenishment, inventory counts, returns) Qualifications & Requirements High school diploma or GED preferred Previous warehouse or distribution experience preferred Ability to operate a forklift required Forklift certification preferred (or ability to be trained and certified by the company) Ability to read, count, and match product numbers accurately Basic computer or RF scanner experience preferred Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and lift for extended periods Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 40 lbs (with or without accommodation) Dependable attendance and strong attention to detail Ability to work independently and as part of a team Work Environment & Schedule Warehouse / distribution center environment Fast-paced, physically active role Exposure to temperature changes Overtime may be required during peak seasons Shifts may include weekends or extended hours based on business needs Preferred Skills Stand-up or sit-down forklift experience Experience working in retail or footwear distribution Strong safety awareness Commitment to accuracy, efficiency, and teamwork Why Work at Famous Footwear Stable distribution center supporting a nationally recognized brand Team-oriented culture with training and certification opportunities Commitment to safety, respect, and operational excellence Famous Footwear is part of Caleres Inc., a diverse portfolio of 15 global footwear brands including Sam Edelman, Naturalizer, Vionic, Dr. Scholl's, Allen Edmonds, and many more .
