Packaging Technician Job Description The Packaging Technician accurately weighs, packages, and documents materials according to batch orders in a fast-paced production and warehouse environment. This role works on their feet throughout the shift, handling bulk product, repackaging into smaller quantities, and ensuring all measurements and records meet quality and safety standards. Responsibilities Receive batch orders and review specifications to determine required materials and quantities. Accurately weigh out materials for each batch using appropriate scales and tools. Package materials according to batch requirements, ensuring correct labeling and documentation. Repackage and break down bulk orders into smaller quantities for shipment to customers. Pick, pack, and prepare orders for shipping in line with customer and company standards. Perform shipping and receiving tasks, including checking in materials and verifying documentation. Operate material handling equipment such as sit-down forklifts and cherry pickers to move and organize inventory, as needed and if qualified. Maintain accurate inventory records and assist with inventory counts and stock organization. Document all orders, measurements, and compounding batches clearly and accurately. Follow all safety, quality, and production procedures while working on the production floor. Support general labor tasks in the production and warehouse areas as required. Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively to meet production and shipping deadlines. Essential Skills 1-2+ years of packaging or mixer/batcher experience in a fast-paced production or warehouse environment. Demonstrated experience weighing, packaging, and documenting materials according to batch or order requirements. Hands-on experience with packing, picking, shipping, and receiving tasks. Ability to perform general labor duties in a production and warehouse setting. Experience with inventory handling and basic inventory recordkeeping. Ability to stand on feet for the majority of the shift and handle repetitive tasks with accuracy. Strong attention to detail for precise measurements, documentation, and labeling. Capability to follow written and verbal instructions and adhere to established procedures. Basic math skills for measurements, counts, and weight calculations. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience operating a sit-down forklift in a warehouse environment. Experience operating a cherry picker for picking and organizing inventory. Experience in compounding or batching processes in production is a plus. Comfort working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Reliable attendance and willingness to work occasional extra hours when needed. Why Work Here? Work Environment The role is based in a climate-controlled production and warehouse facility, working alongside a team of approximately 40-50 people. The standard schedule is first shift, Monday through Friday, from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with the possibility of working an extra hour or two when needed. Weekend work is rare and, when it occurs, typically limited to occasional Saturdays. The position includes two paid 15-minute breaks and a 30-minute unpaid lunch. Work is performed on your feet for most of the day in a production and warehouse setting, using material handling equipment such as sit-down forklifts and cherry pickers where qualified. Closed-toe shoes are required as part of the dress code, and safety and cleanliness are emphasized throughout the facility. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Irving, TX. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $23.00/hr.
