Forbes Candies Inc. is a Virginia Beach manufacturer, distributor and retailer of tasty confections including our famous salt water taffy, chocolates, and many other homemade confections. We manufacture over 100 different confections, many of which are our original recipes that date back to when we started in 1930. Job Overview:

This is a production position. This position is for the most conscientious of people with a high attention to detail. It requires lifting up to 30 lbs. throughout the scheduled shift. Employee will be expected to read and fulfill retail, wholesale and web orders while following all food and safety policies and requirements. Organization and diligence is a key to this position as recording and documenting food related information is a necessity. There are some small scale shipping expectations as well. Being cross trained in a couple departments should be expected

PRIMARY JOB DUTIES

Package items/products needed for store orders, wholesale orders, web orders and holiday orders. Safely and effectively operate necessary equipment Make shipping arrangements for small scale (ground shipment) orders. Gather shipping quotes from various shipping companies. Keep accurate and diligent inventory of all department supplies and products and assist in maintaining an organized department. Must be able to accurately record all food and safety and production documentation Must perform general housekeeping and cleaning of workstation, equipment, and department as required All other duties as assigned by management.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs from the floor to chest height or higher throughout the entirety of scheduled shift. Must possess attention to detail, focus, and undivided attention on task. Must be able to achieve and maintain the production standards set forth by Forbes Candies Inc. Must possess ability to work in a team environment as well as independently and communicate necessary information amongst co-workers and management. Must be able to stand/walk 100% of the scheduled work day (breaks are provided). Must be able to follow instructions and interact appropriately with co-workers, management, vendors, and guests. Must be able to work overtime and weekends as required by Forbes Candies Inc. Must adhere to all food and safety policies and procedures set forth by Forbes Candies Inc. Must be available to work 7:00am-3:30pm, Monday through Friday.
