This role will provide steady leadership for purchasing operations while ensuring procurement activities continue smoothly during a management transition. The ideal candidate brings strong expertise in materials purchasing, vendor coordination, and competitive bid processes, including Safe Bid procurement experience.

Responsibilities:

Direct daily purchasing operations to maintain timely sourcing and supply continuity across the organization. Oversee procurement activities for materials and services, ensuring alignment with budget, quality, and operational needs. Manage competitive bidding processes, including Safe Bid procedures, to support compliant and cost-effective purchasing decisions. Build and maintain productive supplier relationships to improve pricing, service levels, and contract performance. Review purchasing practices and implement process improvements that strengthen efficiency and purchasing controls. Guide the team through leadership transition by providing direction, consistency, and operational support. Monitor purchasing data, track vendor performance, and prepare reporting that supports informed decision-making. Proven experience leading purchasing or procurement functions in a managerial capacity. Demonstrated background in materials purchasing and day-to-day procurement operations. Hands-on experience with Safe Bid procurement processes is required. Strong knowledge of supplier negotiations, bid evaluation, and purchasing best practices. Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines. Effective leadership and communication skills with the ability to support teams through change.
