Job Description

SUMMARY:
The Purchasing Manager is responsible for the day to day purchasing activities for a specific location. The position will work with various departments to ensure adequate stock levels are maintained for current/future production needs, along with performing month end accounting entries and reconciliations. The Purchasing Manager is also responsible for providing oversight to the purchasing team members.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include, but are not limited to, the following: Prepare and process orders for packaging and ingredients needed for the plant, based on production schedule. Process and maintain purchase orders from submitted maintenance and plant requisitions. Perform month end inventory closing with accounting and investigate any material variances. Work with corporate purchasing to ensure the plant is conforming to contracts set in place. Responsible for keeping department audit ready. Make sure paperwork is up to date and all vendors are following required programs. Work closely with warehouse/receiving departments to ensure supplies arrive when needed. Provide oversight to purchasing team members.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This position will have supervisory responsibility. EDUCATION and/or
EXPERIENCE
Required Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain or related field Plus 5 years of purchasing experience or 9 years of progressively responsible purchasing experience Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Office Project management experience Strong analytical skills Preferred Poultry and/or plant experience Previous Supervisory/Leadership experience George's is committed to providing reasonable accommodation to, among others, individuals with disabilities and disabled veterans.
