Job Title:
Procurement Manager Job Description The Procurement Manager leads the procurement function to ensure all plants and operations receive the products, components, and resources they need to run efficiently and reliably. This role partners closely with cross-functional teams to optimize purchasing processes, systems, and strategies while identifying cost-saving and efficiency opportunities that drive profitability. The successful candidate brings extensive procurement experience within the agriculture or oil and gas industries and combines strategic thinking with hands-on execution in sourcing, contracting, and post-award management. Responsibilities Lead and manage the procurement team to ensure timely and efficient supply of products, components, and resources required to maintain plant and operational continuity. Develop, implement, and continuously improve procurement strategies, policies, and procedures that support business objectives and enhance profitability. Oversee end-to-end sourcing activities, including identifying suppliers, issuing requests for proposals, evaluating bids, and negotiating contracts to secure favorable terms and conditions. Manage contracting and post-award activities, ensuring suppliers meet contractual obligations related to quality, delivery, pricing, and service levels. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, finance, supply chain, and other disciplines, to align procurement plans with production schedules and business needs. Optimize purchase order processes, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely issuance of orders through SAP or other enterprise systems. Monitor supplier performance and maintain strong relationships with key vendors to ensure reliability, continuity of supply, and continuous improvement. Use Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel, to analyze spend, track key performance indicators, and prepare reports and presentations that support decision-making. Identify and implement opportunities for cost reduction, process optimization, and system enhancements to improve procurement efficiency and effectiveness. Support project management activities related to procurement, including planning, scheduling, and coordinating materials and services for new or ongoing projects. Ensure procurement activities comply with internal policies, ethical standards, and applicable regulations. Foster a collaborative, agile, and high-performing team culture that encourages learning, adaptability, and long-term success. Essential Skills Bachelor's degree or higher in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field (must have; does not need to be in logistics or procurement). A minimum of 10+ years of relevant experience as a Senior Procurement professional or Procurement Manager, or in a similar role within the agriculture (AG) or oil and gas (O&G) industry. Demonstrable track record of delivery in sourcing, contracting, and post-award management roles. Strong project management experience related to procurement and supply chain activities. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. Ability to perform effectively in a team environment, interfacing with suppliers and multi-discipline teams. Demonstrated agile and collaborative working style, with strong interpersonal and communication skills. Experience with purchase order creation, management, and oversight. Strong analytical and organizational skills with a focus on accuracy and process optimization. Additional Skills & Qualifications SAP experience is preferable and considered a strong asset. Experience in procurement within large, complex industrial operations such as agriculture or oil and gas environments. Ability to build and maintain strong supplier relationships while ensuring compliance with company standards and contractual requirements. Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines. Interest in continuous learning and professional development within procurement and supply chain management. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Phoenix, AZ. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $105000.00/yr.
