Full Job Description Job Overview:
Procurement Manager - ARB, Inc. Position Summary ARB, Inc., a Primoris company, is seeking an experienced Procurement Manager to lead strategic sourcing, negotiations, and supplier performance for large-scale EPC and industrial construction projects. This Irvine, CA-based role will support power generation, energy infrastructure, and industrial projects nationwide. The Procurement Manager will oversee procurement of engineered equipment, commodities, and bulk materials, ensuring alignment with project schedules, budgets, and technical specifications. This role is responsible for the full procurement lifecycle, from early project planning and vendor prequalification through contract execution, expediting, logistics coordination, and supplier performance management. Experience with Viewpoint and pVault is strongly preferred. Key Responsibilities Develop and execute procurement strategies aligned with project execution plans and company objectives Lead procurement of major engineered equipment, including turbines, generators, HRSGs, compressors, pumps, heat exchangers, MCCs, switchgear, transformers, BESS systems, and other balance-of-plant systems Manage sourcing and purchasing of commodities and bulk materials, including structural steel, pipe, fittings, valves, electrical cable, cable tray, instrumentation, rebar, concrete, coatings, and insulation Oversee long-lead equipment procurement, ensuring early identification of risks and proactive mitigation strategies Manage bid packages, commercial evaluations, technical clarifications, and contract negotiations Coordinate closely with engineering, project management, construction, and project controls teams to ensure procurement activities support schedule and cost objectives Lead supplier prequalification, performance monitoring, and corrective action processes Oversee contract administration, including change management, claims mitigation, and compliance with commercial terms Manage expediting and logistics coordination to ensure timely material delivery to fabrication yards and job sites Implement cost reduction initiatives, value engineering opportunities, and supply chain optimization strategies Ensure compliance with procurement policies, industry regulations, and ethical sourcing standards Lead, mentor, and develop procurement staff to strengthen departmental capability and execution discipline Support early project phases (pursuits, proposals, FEED) by developing sourcing plans and budgetary pricing Qualifications Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field; Master's degree preferred Minimum 7+ years of progressive procurement experience supporting large-scale industrial, power generation, or EPC construction projects Direct experience purchasing engineered equipment, mechanical and electrical commodities, and bulk construction materials Strong understanding of technical specifications, equipment data sheets, vendor drawings, and fabrication requirements Experience managing long-lead equipment and complex commercial negotiations Proficiency with ERP and procurement systems (SAP, JDE, Oracle, or similar); Viewpoint and pVault preferred Demonstrated experience in supplier evaluation, contract management, and risk mitigation Strong negotiation, leadership, and cross-functional collaboration skills Analytical, data-driven decision-making approach Professional certification (CPSM, CPP, PMP, or similar) is a plus Willingness to travel periodically to supplier facilities and project sites Annual salary range of $130k - $180K commensurate with education, experience and skillset #LI-MD1
