Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Strategic Sourcing Manager role based in San Diego, CA or Austin, Texas. The Strategic Sourcing Manager will develop and execute sourcing strategies for components, materials, and services that support Telescent's fiber optic and network automation solutions. This role includes identifying and qualifying suppliers, leading competitive bid processes, negotiating pricing and contract terms, and ensuring alignment with quality, delivery, and cost targets. The person in this role will collaborate closely with engineering, operations, quailty, finance, and product teams to forecast demand, manage supply risk, and support new product introductions. Day-to-day activities also involve monitoring supplier performance, driving continuous improvement initiatives, resolving supply issues, and maintaining accurate procurement and contract documentation in relevant systems. Qualifications Demonstrated experience in supplier-facing activities, including Supplier Evaluation and Supplier Development, with a focus on quality, cost, delivery, and innovation. Proven track record in Supplier Management, including performance monitoring, issue resolution, and long-term relationship building. Strong skills in Procurement and Contract Negotiation, including RFP/RFQ management, cost analysis, and contract drafting or review. Ability to design and implement strategic sourcing plans that support business objectives, risk mitigation, and total cost of ownership optimization. Experience in electronics, fiber optics, networking hardware, or related high-technology supply chains is highly beneficial. Excellent analytical, Excel/spreadsheet, and data-driven decision-making skills. Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to partner cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment.
