Life Science, Technology & Industrial Manufacturing Projects Note:
This position requires employees to be on-site five days a week at the project location near Boulder, CO. Relocation assistance provided. About the Role We are currently seeking a talented, full time Senior Buyer for Life Science, Technology and Industrial Manufacturing projects. The Senior Buyer for Capital Projects is responsible for end-to-end procurement and contracting for major capital initiatives, ensuring project objectives are met through effective material and equipment sourcing, vendor management, and contract execution. The position focuses on the strategic acquisition of critical goods and services, cost management, and supplier relationship development in a complex capital projects environment. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the successful delivery of capital projects through rigorous procurement execution and collaborative vendor engagement. Job Description Lead all procurement activities for assigned capital projects, including competitive bidding, vendor communications, proposal reviews, and purchase order issuance. Manage vendor relationships with a focus on contract details, delivery schedules, and risk mitigation for high-value or complex capital equipment and materials. Develop, implement, and oversee tendering processes (RFIs, RFQs, RFPs) for the procurement of commodities, engineered equipment, and specialty services aligned with project timelines and budgets. Negotiate major purchase agreements, construction contracts, and framework agreements in collaboration with legal and project management teams, ensuring terms meet performance, quality, and compliance objectives. Monitor project procurement budgets, identify opportunities for cost savings, and report on deviations and corrective actions. Establish and maintain comprehensive records and documentation for procurement transactions, contracts, and supplier communications, ensuring compliance with all corporate policies, industry regulations, and audit requirements. Conduct ongoing market research and supplier performance evaluations to inform procurement strategy and improve supply chain resilience. Collaborate closely with project managers, engineering, finance, and other internal stakeholders to align procurement objectives with project milestones and requirements. Assist in developing and delivering training for procurement processes, systems, and standards to project and procurement team members. Support the continuous improvement of procurement best practices, strategic sourcing initiatives, and risk management processes. Qualifications Minimum 7 years of procurement experience, with a proven track record in capital projects, construction, or heavy industry. Expertise in bidding, contract negotiation, purchase order management, and supplier communications. Strong knowledge of contract law, tendering processes, project controls, and industry best practices. Excellent interpersonal, analytical, and organizational skills; demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines. Proficient in procurement and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle). Fluent English required; multilingual capabilities preferred.
