About the Role We are seeking a skilled Level 2 or 3 Indirect Buyer to assist with our procurement functions. In this capacity, you will oversee the complete lifecycle of indirect service and material acquisitions, with a specific emphasis on aerospace-related goods, ET/IT hardware, and standard Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) items. The ideal professional will possess exceptional negotiation abilities, a background in supplier relations, and the capacity to handle intricate procurement tasks within a dynamic aerospace setting.
Locations:
Melbourne, Florida or Kent, Washington. Applicants must be US Citizens and W2 employees. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience Minimum of 5 years of purchasing or procurement background, ideally within an indirect buying role Proven track record in the acquisition of IT/technology hardware and COTS products Strong capabilities in managing supplier relationships and conducting negotiations High level of proficiency using procurement or ERP platforms such as Coupa, Oracle, or SAP Outstanding organizational, communication, and analytical abilities Capacity to help the team maintain high productivity by effectively managing multiple competing priorities Preferred Qualifications Background in defense, aerospace, or other highly regulated manufacturing sectors Familiarity with procurement compliance and aerospace quality standards Possession of a professional certification like CPSM, CPM, or similar Experience in category management and strategic sourcing Key Responsibilities Procurement & Sourcing Manage the entire procurement process for indirect categories, including aerospace services, ET/IT hardware, and COTS items Convert purchase requisitions into formal purchase orders while adhering to internal procedures Select, evaluate, and source suppliers based on service, quality, cost, and delivery metrics Facilitate competitive bid analyses and issue RFPs and RFQs Standard COTS Procurement Oversee the acquisition of standard commercial off-the-shelf items across various categories Improve operational efficiency by identifying standardization and catalog buying opportunities Foster productive partnerships with COTS manufacturers and distributors ET/IT Hardware Procurement Acquire information technology and engineering hardware, such as test equipment, peripherals, networking components, and computing gear Collaborate with engineering and IT teams to clarify technical requirements and specifications Ensure that hardware acquisitions help the organization meet lifecycle management, compatibility, and security standards Aerospace Procurement Facilitate the acquisition of aerospace-related services and components Manage complex requirements related to compliance standards, traceability, and quality certifications for aerospace use Work alongside quality and engineering departments to define compliance and technical specifications Supplier & Stakeholder Management Cultivate robust supplier connections to ensure competitive pricing and reliable supply chains Negotiate terms, conditions, and pricing to help the company realize significant value and cost savings Address and resolve invoice discrepancies, delivery delays, or quality issues with suppliers Engage with internal stakeholders to ensure business requirements are met through timely fulfillment Compliance & Documentation Ensure all purchasing activities remain in alignment with regulatory requirements, contractual obligations, and company policy Maintain comprehensive and accurate procurement documentation Assist with reporting needs and audit preparations
