Job Description

SUMMARY:
As a Procurement Director at True Grade, you will lead and optimize the organization's procurement strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives and long-term growth. This role is responsible for overseeing sourcing, supplier management, category strategy, and procurement operations, while driving cost efficiency, product availability, and strategic partnerships. The Procurement Director plays a key role in executive decision-making related to supplier selection, product portfolio expansion, and contract strategy.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary responsibility of this Procurement Director will be the strategic leadership and oversight of all procurement activities, including category management, supplier partnerships, and sourcing strategy across meat, poultry, seafood, grocery, beverage, and any additional categories incorporated into the department. The scope of this role is subject to evolve based on organizational needs.
Strategic Leadership & Sourcing:
  • Define and execute the overall procurement strategy aligned with company goals.
  • Lead strategic sourcing initiatives to ensure a resilient, cost-effective, and scalable supply chain.
  • Evaluate market conditions to determine sourcing priorities and competitive positioning.
  • Contribute to executive decision-making regarding product additions, contract inclusions, and bidding strategies.
Category Management Oversight:
  • Supervise and provide strategic direction across key categories: Meat & Poultry, Beverage, Grocery, Seafood, and others as added.
  • Establish category strategies focused on profitability, availability, and market competitiveness.
  • Monitor category performance and adjust sourcing strategies accordingly.
Bidding Process Oversight:
  • Oversee and standardize the end-to-end bidding process.
  • Ensure transparency, competitiveness, and alignment with company objectives throughout the bidding process.
  • Review and approve bid structures, supplier participation, and evaluation methodologies.
  • Lead cross-functional collaboration during bid events, including Procurement, Finance, Operations, and Quality teams.
  • Analyze bid results and make data-driven recommendations for supplier selection and contract
