Job Description
Are you an experienced purchasing professional who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and knows how to keep materials, vendors, and production running smoothly? Qualified Staffing is seeking a Purchasing Manager for our client in Macon, GA. This position plays a key role in supporting production by managing purchasing activities, maintaining accurate ERP/MRP data, and building strong supplier relationships. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, purchasing experience in manufacturing, and the ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
Schedule:
Monday through Thursday 6:00 AM - 4:30 PM (Fridays as needed)Responsibilities:
- Manage purchase orders from creation through completion
- Track open orders and follow up with suppliers on delivery timelines
- Maintain accurate purchasing data, pricing, lead times, and vendor information in ERP/MRP systems
- Support inventory control efforts and help prevent material shortages
- Assist with vendor quotes, cost comparisons, and supplier performance tracking
- Work with drawings and manufacturing documentation
- Support DCAA audit activities and procurement compliance
- Identify opportunities to improve purchasing processes and data accuracy
- Collaborate with multiple departments to support production goals
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of purchasing or supply chain experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
- Strong ERP/MRP system experience
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and follow-through
- Ability to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision
- Understanding of manufacturing workflows, inventory practices, and lead times
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree preferred Why work for Qualified Staffing?
