Summary Category Insights Manager As a Category Insights Manager, you will serve as a critical analytical and insights resource for our national clients with $20M+ in retail sales in a specific regional sales market. You will play a strategic role in delivering consumer and marketplace insights. In this position, you will serve as a key business partner to the Category Analytics & Insights and sales teams in helping diagnose business problems and drive business growth. Working closely with a regional sales office, you will collaborate with internal and external clients to identify data reporting needs, conduct business data analysis, and create both ad hoc and standardized reports to facilitate actionable insights. You may provide direction to one or more Business Intelligence Analysts to assist in his/her development of analyzing and reporting information using a variety of tools, data sets (i.e., NIQ, Circana, customer, shipment, etc.), and techniques. As the Category Insights Manager, you will be regarded as the subject matter expert in consumption data for your assigned clients. You may also be involved in developing or implementing tools to enhance processes for capturing business data and maintaining data quality. Ability to develop compelling stories for innovative/up-and-coming brands with a limited history. Present insights and strategic initiatives to client directors and Advantage key account managers. Opportunity analysis Assortment analysis Innovation launch Post-promotion analysis Retailer reviews Category reviews Emphasis on understanding shopper behavior, category trends, and identifying market opportunities. Thought leadership in positioning products for buyers.
Qualifications:
5-10 years in retail analytics or category management (not financial/Healthcare or data-only analytics). Syndicated data experience preferred. Circana Nielsen Advanced Excel - reporting, pivot tables scorecards. Power BI preferred. Keep a pulse on the business, bringing the right insights and market data to measure DSMP tactical execution. Leverage key learnings to inform plan adjustments and partner with sales and Category Analytics & Insights team for in-market execution.
Trade & Pricing:
Contribute to the development of retail trade & promotional pricing recommendations, supporting the Sales Team with in-depth pre- and post-promotional analysis. Insights and learnings to enhance trade effectiveness and efficiency for Clients.
