Join our team and help us build something great. Overview We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Steel Procurement Manager to lead our steel sourcing and purchasing operations. In this vital role, you will drive procurement strategies, manage supplier relationships, and oversee the sourcing of high-quality steel materials essential for manufacturing projects. Your expertise will ensure the seamless supply chain flow, optimize costs, and uphold the highest standards of quality and compliance. Responsibilities Develop and implement comprehensive procurement strategies for steel materials, aligning with production schedules and project requirements. Lead contract negotiations with suppliers to secure favorable terms, pricing, and delivery conditions while ensuring compliance with industry regulations such as Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR). Manage supplier relationships through effective supplier management practices, including performance evaluations, root cause analysis of supply issues, and continuous improvement initiatives. Work with our internal team to understand the pricing budget and time constraints for each order Conduct category management to identify sourcing opportunities, optimize procurement spend, and enhance supply chain resilience. Oversee procurement activities related to logistics, materials management, quality assurance, and contract management to ensure timely delivery of materials that meet quality standards. Collaborate with manufacturing teams to align procurement activities with production schedules and operational needs while managing risks associated with supply chain disruptions. Qualifications
MUST HAVE STEEL PURCHASING EXPERIENCE OR EXTENSIVE STEEL MATERIAL KNOWLEDGE. DO NOT APPLY IF YOU DO NOT KNOW STEEL!
! Proven experience in procurement management within manufacturing or construction sectors, with a strong understanding of supply chain dynamics related to steel or heavy materials. Demonstrated expertise in contract negotiation, sourcing strategies, and category management. Strong analytical skills including root cause analysis to resolve supply issues efficiently. Excellent negotiation skills combined with the ability to manage supplier relationships effectively. Bachelor's degree (IS A PLUS) in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or related field; advanced certifications in procurement or supply chain preferred.
