The Opportunity We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Purchasing Leader to oversee and optimize all procurement activities across the organization. In this role, you will ensure cost-effective purchasing while maintaining high standards of quality, reliability, and supplier performance. What You'll Work On Partner with cross-functional leaders to forecast demand for goods, materials, and services Develop procurement plans, cost estimates, and timelines to support business needs Evaluate, select, and negotiate with suppliers for key contracts and purchases Establish purchasing policies, standards, and evaluation tools for supplier selection Analyze purchasing trends and identify opportunities for bulk buying and cost savings Monitor market price trends and new product offerings to optimize spend Manage and strengthen relationships with key suppliers, vendors, and subcontractors Ensure consistent delivery of quality, service, and reliability from suppliers Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing purchasing team Oversee team performance, resource allocation, and achievement of targets Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, or related field Proven experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management Experience negotiating contracts and managing supplier relationships Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate pricing and market trends Demonstrated leadership experience managing and developing teams Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills Preferred Qualifications Advanced degree (MBA or related field) Experience in strategic sourcing or category management Knowledge of procurement systems and tools (ERP, sourcing platforms) Certification such as CPSM, CPM, or equivalent Experience driving cost reduction initiatives and process improvements Learn more about our health and wellness benefits, which provide the security to help you and your family live full lives: www.abbottbenefits.com Follow your career aspirations to Abbott for diverse opportunities with a company that can help you build your future and live your best life.
