  • Role Summary:
  • This role is responsible for
  • managing strategic breakthrough categories
  • & •Facility supplier team•to drive continuous improvement in •Quality, Cost, Logistics, Development, and Management (QCLDM)•across the global supplier base.
  • What You'll Do (Job Duties)
  • + Develop, communicate, and implement a
  • global sourcing strategy
  • for a specific category. + Identify
  • supplier performance gaps
  • and create improvement plans. + Use the
  • QCLDM tool
  • to track supplier progress and ensure continuous improvement with key vendors.
+ Assess long-term strategic options and lead their implementation. +
People:
  • This person will manage a high performing team of procurement professionals.
  • What You Have (Core Skills)
  • + •
Strategic Sourcing:
  • Knowledge of strategic sourcing methods, technologies and processes; ability to analyze, improve and re-evaluate organizational procurement process continuously. +
  • Negotiating:
  • Knowledge of successful negotiation concepts and techniques; ability to negotiate successfully across the organization and with external vendors and clients in a constructive and collaborative manner. +
  • Audit and Compliance Function:
  • Knowledge of major responsibilities and tasks of Audit and Compliance (A&C) function; ability to manage the operation of A&C function in various business environments. +
  • Business Intelligence:
  • Knowledge of business intelligence; ability to utilize business processes and technologies for gathering, storing, analyzing, and providing access to data that helps the organization make better business decisions. +
  • Category Management:
  • Knowledge of category management within an organization's goods and services sector; ability to use this knowledge to analyze and improve the end-to-end procurement process and maximize business profitability. +
  • Supplier Management
  • MFG:
  • Knowledge of processes and methods to effectively manage business relationships and transactions with suppliers of raw materials or product components; ability to apply related knowledge, experience and skills into real practice.
  • Top Candidates Will Also Have
  • + Degree or equivalent experience. + Strong expertise in procurement, supplier management, and global sourcing strategy.

Travel:
30% to 50% domestic and international + This position is eligible for stock or other equity grants pursuant to Caterpillar's long-term incentive plan. + This position requires 5 days per week in the office (M-F)
  • Summary Pay Range:
  • $172,630.00
  • $258,950.00 Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
