Job Description

Job Summary:
Responsible for managing the materials cycle, including purchasing, sourcing, suppliers, receiving, and inventory control. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, make strategic decisions and implement best practices within the materials management functions. Job Duties and Responsibilities Develop and maintain supplier and vendor relationships to negotiate pricing, contracts, and delivery terms that maximize value. Evaluate supplier performance for quality, cost, and on-time delivery. Help identify alternative suppliers to minimize risk and ensure continuity. Source and select suppliers based on quality, reliability, cost effectiveness, and compliance with ethical and sustainability standards. Support commodity management and hedging strategies where applicable (e.g., steel, aluminum, plastics). Coordinate with the production and engineering teams to ensure the quality standards are understood and met for purchased products. Ensure material availability aligns with production schedules and resolve shortages or supply chain disruptions promptly. Monitoring inventory levels, analyzing demand patterns and implementing inventory management strategies to manage stock levels and avoid shortages or excesses through a consistent flow of on-time, quality 'line ready' products. This includes conducting regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits. Monitor logistics and receiving by overseeing incoming material inspections, maintaining proper storage and handling of materials to prevent damage, and coordinate freight, shipping, and delivery logistics with vendors and carriers. Develop and maintain procurement metrics to track performance, identify areas for improvement and report on sourcing effectiveness. Stay updated on regulatory requirements and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations related to sourcing activities. Maintain detailed purchasing records, vendor contracts, and inventory data. Generate reports on purchasing performance, inventory turnover, and various cost metrics. Job Skill, Requirements and qualifications: Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration, related field, or equivalent experience and certifications. 3-5 years of experience in purchasing management, with a proven path of progressive experience in purchasing and sourcing roles. An analytical mind with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams. Proficiency in using ERP software and systems. Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management abilities. $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
