Job Description

Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented Purchasing Supervisor to join our finance team at Central Office. This full-time position will be responsible for overseeing the accounts payable department, ensuring that all procurement activities are conducted efficiently and in accordance with applicable policies. The ideal candidate would have knowledge of school district purchasing, governmental accounting, and ability to lead others. Responsibilities Manage and supervise the accounts payable department, providing guidance and support to schools and other purchasing staff to ensure optimal performance. Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with company goals and objectives. Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to secure favorable terms and pricing. Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements related to purchasing activities. Analyze purchasing data and prepare reports for management to inform decision-making. Collaborate with finance and accounting teams to manage budgets and track expenditures. Train and mentor staff on purchasing processes and best practices. Resolve any issues or disputes with suppliers in a timely and professional manner. Requirements - High School diploma - College degree preferred Minimum of 3 years working in public schools or other professional setting dealing with purchasing/bookkeeping. Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in purchasing software and Microsoft Office Suite. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with ability to learn school district finance software. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations governing purchasing activities.
