Summary :
The Director of Strategic Sourcing leads enterprise-wide sourcing strategy across clinical and non-clinical categories, driving cost optimization, supplier performance, and value-based outcomes. This role partners with physicians, supply chain, finance, and operational leaders to align sourcing initiatives with organizational goals, clinical priorities, and regulatory requirements
Job Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership o Develop and execute multi-year sourcing strategies aligned with health system goals, clinical value analysis, and financial targets. o Lead cross-functional sourcing councils and governance bodies to ensure transparency, physician engagement, and stakeholder alignment.
- Category Management & Contracting o Oversee strategic sourcing across major spend categories (e.g., medical/surgical, pharmacy, purchased services, capital). o Negotiate high-impact contracts, leveraging data analytics, benchmarking, and group purchasing organization (GPO) partnerships.
- Clinical Integration o Collaborate with clinical leadership to embed evidence-based decision-making into sourcing processes. o Support product standardization, utilization management, and recall mitigation strategies.
- Operational Excellence o Drive continuous improvement in sourcing operations, including technology enablement, supplier scorecards, and compliance monitoring. o Lead workforce planning, talent development, and change management for sourcing teams.
- Financial Stewardship o Deliver measurable cost savings, total cost of ownership improvements, and value-based procurement outcomes.
o Report sourcing performance to executive leadership and board-level stakeholders.
Skills/Competencies:
- Proven success in physician engagement, clinical value analysis, and enterprise contracting.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and governance skills.
- Experience with ERP systems, sourcing platforms, and data visualization tools
Required Experience:
10+ years in strategic sourcing, supply chain, or procurement leadership within healthcare or a similarly complex industry
Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree Preferred Education:
MBA, MHA, or clinical background preferred

Typically, a new hire can expect a starting salary somewhere in the lower part of the range. Actual salaries may vary by position and will be determined based on the candidate's relevant experience.
