POSITION SUMMARY
The Purchasing Supervisor works within the Purchasing Department and assists the VP of Purchasing in procuring a wide range of products at the most competitive prices. This role supervises Purchasing Administrators, manages inventory and warehouse operations, builds vendor relationships, and develops purchasing strategies that support field and office operations across all Hirschi companies.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and execute new and improved purchasing strategies. Delegate tasks and supervise the work of Purchasing Administrators. Purchase both field and office supplies, tools, and materials. Generate accurate Purchase Orders with correct items, prices, and vendors. Manage, monitor, and receive inventory properly, including unloading pallets and integrating new stock. Maintain the warehouse and ensure its cleanliness and organization. Perform regular audits on inventory and supplies. Ensure products, items, and materials remain in stock and ready for use. Maintain files and all pertinent information concerning vendors and suppliers. Build and maintain positive working relationships with vendors and suppliers. Perform additional tasks as assigned by the VP of Purchasing.
MUST HAVE
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum 2 years of experience as a Purchasing Agent preferred. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Must be friendly and possess a professional attitude. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail. Must be able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Must be able to lift 75 lbs. Bilingual in both English and Spanish preferred. Operational knowledge of Microsoft Office software. Must pass drug test and background check. Must be able to read and write in English and/or Spanish at a level sufficient to follow safety instructions, complete required documentation accurately, and communicate effectively with supervisors, coworkers, and customers.
NICE TO HAVE
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience with construction purchasing and material procurement. Experience supervising or training purchasing staff. Knowledge of inventory management systems or ERP platforms. Familiarity with vendor negotiation and competitive bidding processes. Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, or related field.
